Pyrosim (FDS Interface)
PyroSim is a graphical interface for the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS). FDS predicts fire effects like smoke, temperature, and carbon monoxide. It is used for building safety design, evaluation, and fire investigation. PyroSim helps ensure correct input formatting with real-time feedback. It also provides advanced 2D/3D modeling tools for efficient simulation design.
FDS (Fire Dynamic Simulator)
Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) is a CFD-based fire modeling tool using Large Eddy Simulation (LES). It simulates fire-driven flow by solving mass, momentum, and energy equations. The model uses a grid of rectangular cells to represent physical spaces. Results are visualized in 3D using Smokeview with temperature and smoke data. FDS (Version 6.0) is widely used for smoke modelling in buildings.
Pathfinder
Pathfinder is an evacuation simulation tool based on real-life human behavior data. It models individual movement using advanced techniques from gaming and computer graphics. The software applies SFPE equations to simulate occupant motion and flow through exits. It can reproduce standard evacuation calculations for complex building layouts. Pathfinder includes a database of occupant traits affecting movement and evacuation time.
Flacs
FLACS is an advanced CFD software purpose-built for industrial safety applications. It specialises in modelling complex hazard scenarios in large-scale 3D environments, providing essential tools for understanding gas dispersion, explosion overpressures, shockwave propagation, and fire dynamics.
